  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
  5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers

If you're new to the Follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Q: What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

A: UH. Well, I dunno. I definitely hate it when a book is really similar to one I've read already, even if the author hadn't intended it to be that way. I don't think I've ever dealt with an "omnipotent narrator" before. (It's sounds fairly epic though) I hated Unraveling... OH you know what bugs me the most? Random info dumps. Those are really annoying. I love just having the information slowly leak out during a book/series, so that by the end you know everything. And I hate it when authors don't really give enough explanation of  the relationships between characters (like the guy best friend in Unraveling, I could not figure out how he and the MC knew each other for the longest time. it was awful).

I sound ADD. It's 6:20 am my time, so I guess that's why :)

  1. I agree with he random info dumping! I don't want to be overwhelmed and know everything within the first couple of chapters, it defeats the purpose of reading.

  3. RANDOM INFO DUMPS!!!!! YES!

Sorry. Got a little excited there haha.

I really hate it when the background of the story / character / world / situation / anything / everything happens right at the beginning of the book as well.

Yeahhh Unraveling really just felt like a rehash of Roswell :( Although I seriously felt like that whole book was a prequel to a story that could be new and cool. If you got to the end?

  4. I agree with you about the Random info dumps, I hate it when your reading a book and then some event happens and your like oooohhhh... what did that mean, but then for the next five pages the author is explaining what just happened. It just really annyoes me.

  6. Oh, I agree with your points. I don't care for cliffhangers, but mostly I hate anything that happens due to coincidence. I like logical steps to a conclusion.

  7. Yep, info dumps are so sad. If you wanted those, you could always pick up your textbook.

  8. Hi! New follower here. I agree with hating info dump. It stops the flow of the book and it's so much info at once that you fail to remember half of it.

Also, I am giving away a Kindle or Nook (your choice) on my blog if you are interested. The contest ends in 2 days!

    Peace & Love
