Feature & Follow (11)

Gain New Blog Followers
The Feature & Follow blog hop is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
  2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
  5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers

If you're new to the Follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Q: What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?

A: I started the blog just to share my love of books with people, since none of my friends read at the same pace I did and my mother got tired of hearing me go on and on about how awesome the books I read were. So I just started reviewing and whatnot (at first I didn't even know about memes... it was bad), but now I don't know. I feel like this blog is so much a part of me that I don't think I could give it up if I wanted to (sounds lame but it's so true). It's like missing a limb if I don't get a certain number of reviews out a week or all my posts done. Now it's just kind of something I do (much of the Nerd Herd is jealous of all my books though :D).

I would love to write a book someday and be published, but my writing skills have a long way to go before that ever happens. On a side note, I got to go see Rick Riordan talk last night (he gave writing advice and talked about a war moose!) and get a signed copy of The Mark of Athena and a Camp Half-Blood t-shirt (I'm wearing it now- pics shall go on my post about it tomorrow, it's so awesome). Things like that feel a lot less geeky now that they have more of a purpose for me, though, and that's a plus.

So, yeah. No goals, just sort of me here on the blogosphere. I would like to get to like 300 followers before 2012's up, though... so maybe there's an aspiration.

How about you? What do you guys hope to accomplish with y'all's book blogs?

  6. Great answer! I love seeing visiting authors-- I was so lucky to meet Lauren Oliver, Kendare Blake, and Veronica Roth when they came to St. Louis. One of my favorite things about being a blogger is getting to meet and interview these authors! :-) You are doing great and go for your dreams!

    Old follower.
